Tim Smith

Tim is a tech journalist covering AI and the impact of technology on society. He’s been reporting for the Financial Times-backed Sifted since 2019, and before that spent 5 years working as a reporter and producer for BBC World Service, covering everything from online radicalisation to the role of social media in nationalist movements. Tim is interested in how cutting edge technologies change the way we live, work and are governed, and how the private sector should be both encouraged and controlled by policy makers.
