Cecilia Nunn
Global Responsible AI Manager, Accenture UK
Few people in the AI space can say their career has been shaped by both a Mayan village in Guatemala and a boardroom in the City of London. Our next speaker has spent her life at the intersection of technology and human impact.
She began her career in international development, working for NGOs across Chile, Guatemala and India. She saw that many charities were not using technology as effectively as they could be, so she set out to expand her technical knowledge and better support the sector. This led her to Google, where she worked across a range of products and teams, from Google Maps and DeepMind to the launch of YouTube Premium. Inspired by her exposure to cutting edge AI research, she took the bold step to become more deeply technical and retrained as a full stack software engineer. Since then she has led responsible AI and tech teams across startups, investors, global corporations, universities and charities.
She contributed to the creation of the UK's first Responsible Quantum principles, is an active member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for AI, and sits on the boards of Brunel University and the Bridging Responsible AI Divides Fund. At Accenture she advises organisations from major global banks and corporations to government and the creative industries. She also recently launched a major AI partnership with Anthropic, with her efforts recognised internationally.
A sought after voice in the AI space, she speaks annually at the London AI Summit and last year was on the main stage to over 4,000 people. She has appeared on panels nationally and internationally and is a recognised keynote speaker on responsible AI, innovation and women in tech.
As a mum of four, including two children with special educational needs, and someone who personally navigates life with a long term illness, her commitment to building a more inclusive and responsible tech future is as personal as it is professional. She is a fierce advocate for women in STEM and for equipping the next generation with the confidence and skills to master AI as a tool for extraordinary good.
