Join the CW Wireless Heritage SIG for a visit to this fascinating museum which covers the history of air defence and the development of radar from the earliest experiments through to the present day.

The museum is based just outside RAF Neatishead which had a major front line operational role in the UK’s Air Defence System, and includes the World War II Control Room and the original (and impressive) Cold War Operations Room preserved in its original state. As part of our visit the museum volunteers will give us talks in each of these.

Outside there are examples of mobile radar systems and the surface to air missiles they controlled, whilst inside many rooms contain exhibits (including interesting examples of radar system hardware) and information on the history of radar and RAF Neatishead. Another room contains real Tornado and Jaguar cockpits which visitors can sit in if they wish (and can fit!).

A sandwich lunch and refreshments are included in the visit.
