Soraya was part of the senior leadership team of Tribal Group Plc before she became the first CEO of Cambridge Wireless from 2007 to 2015, where she was successful in growing the business from a one-person company to a membership cluster of over 400 companies and 20 industry-focused Special Interest Groups, making it one of the premier tech clusters in the UK. From 2015, she pursued other ventures including becoming an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the St. John’s Innovation Centre, the Innovation Ambassador at the Bradfield Centre and the Director of Partnerships at the Invested Investor, and recently, she has been appointed as the Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence for Univ of East Anglia.
Soraya feels honoured to be an Ambassador for Cambridge Tech Week 2024, having been part of the steering group committee for the 2023 inaugural event. She is passionate about innovation, diversity and entrepreneurship, especially amongst the next generation, hence her current involvement with the visionary Homerton Changemakers programme, which prepares future leaders for the challenges of 21st Century. Soraya holds BSc and MSc degrees from Indiana University, USA and a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
