In her current role as PwC UK’s Responsible AI Lead, Maria is responsible for the deployment of ethical AI practices throughout the firm and for its clients. Her expertise and reputation as a trusted advisor have led to her advising government, regulators, policymakers, civil society, and research institutions on AI public policy. Maria is a globally recognized AI ethics expert, having won awards for her contributions to the field. She is also an advocate for AI policies that prioritize the welfare of children, and she serves on the Advisory Board for UNICEF #AI4Children and the World Economic Forum Generation AI programs. Through her work as an Intellectual Forum Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, Maria conducts research on human-centric AI and the intersection between tech policy and ethics. Her expertise and insights as a guest lecturer have been invaluable in shaping the conversation around responsible AI practices.
