Mike is the CEO of Eastern Promise, a non-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to championing the East of England’s people, places, and potential.
His energetic, values-based and wholly positive approach is exemplified by his popular Eastern Promise podcast. Now in its third year, the podcast is known for its uplifting and informative content, highlighting the East of England’s stupendous potential across its sectors, industries and places.
Eastern Promise also holds live events where the same themes of seizing opportunity, realising potential and positive action lead the way. Mike is also an in-demand MC and moderator, having helmed local, regional and national events, including panels at the UK Real Estate, Infrastructure and Investment Forum (UKREiiF) and Cambridge Tech Week.
Before starting Eastern Promise, Mike spent 15 years as a Parliamentary Researcher to a Norfolk MP, during which time he wrote speeches, national press statements and articles, supported select committee work, organised events, helped draft legislation, led the response to the 2009 expenses scandal, and both conceived and managed the “How Should Norfolk Grow?” initiative, in many ways a forerunner to Eastern Promise.
Mike is also a media and PR consultant, white-label podcast producer, occasional stand-up comedian and lecturer, although not simultaneously.
